MISSION STATEMENT
YAD supports the youths and under-privileged groups within the communities on Agriculture, wealth creation and provides capacity building and information through the use of participatory approaches and advocacy.

OVERALL GOAL
Improve agriculture and economic growth within communities and to promote development and sustainable livelihood.

MAIN OBJECTIVES
Youths and under-privileged groups are sustainably empowered economically in agriculture to fight against poverty and unemployment.
 
OBJECTIVES
  • To empower the youths with capacity building programs in health and agricultural sectors.
  • To help the rural youths to develop appropriate skills in agriculture to fight against poverty and unemployment.
  • To educate youths in the rural community on appropriate and sustainable natural resource management and To support and care for orphans and vulnerable children through our existing programs

  • Youth( especially the girl child)

MAJOR ACHIEVEMENTS
  •  Improved on the farm out put of over 650 small scale farmers by providing proper medication to their crops in the N W Region.
  • Assisted  17 communities to develop action plans for the fight against poverty and unemployment
  • Provided support to life stock farmers in Ndonga mantung division by giving proper medication to their birds and animals,
  •  Trained 17  Associations of young farmers on good marketing strategies in order to improve on their financial status
  • Trained 28 young girls on pig production and initiated the construction of their pens.
  • Produce over12, 000 birds (chickens) over the past four years   with a few poultry farmers at NTAMUCHE MILE 3 NKWEN.
  • Train 18 community base organization (CBOs) on the importance of mixed farming in the North West Region

CONSTRAINS
·          Inadequate space and working materials due to expansion in activities renders work difficult.
·          Delay in project execution and adequate follow up of CBOs’ micro projects due to lack of own means of transport.
·          Limited finances to execute projects remain a major constraint.

PERSPECTIVE
·          The provision of means of transport for project execution and supervision in hard – reach areas.
·          Encourage and support to at least 6000 youths in agriculture.
·          Establish more micro projects in Mezam, Boyo, Bui and Momo divisions to sustain the agriculture out put for poverty alleviation.
·          Facilitate the creation of demonstration farms for groups
Acquire a permanent site so as to take care of the present inadequate office space due to expansion in activities
